General Spa Information
We
suggest making any essence spa appointments in
advance of your stay. Generally one of our staff
will coordinate a spa experience just for you.
If you have not booked a spa treatment or desire
additional spa appointments, just let us know
and we will always do our best to accommodate
you!
Medical Conditions: Please notify a spa
receptionist before booking treatments if you
are pregnant, have allergies, high blood
pressure, any physical ailments, or
disabilities. This will prepare our staff far in
advance to provide the best possible treatment
or therapy for you. When receiving your
treatment, the technician will address your
needs based on your personal assessment. They
will speak to you about the temperature,
pressure, music, product, and sequence of
service they are providing. You may also
communicate to us how you are feeling during
your service. If there is anything you would
like us to address please inform the technician.
Customer Requests: You may request a
specific gender massage therapist and/or
aesthetician while booking an appointment. We
can not guarantee that we will have your request
available at all times. All Bella Monte staff
are trained to respect the privacy of our guests
and to create a comfortable relaxing environment
for all.
Check In: Please remove your jewelry and
leave it in your room or with the Front Desk
prior to your treatment. Ideally plan to arrive
15-30 minutes early so you can enjoy an
unhurried transition into the spa. If you are
late, your treatment time will be shortened. We
suggest “taking the waters” just prior to your
service. A soak in one of our pools will refresh
and relax you prior to your spa treatment. After
a treatment, you are welcome to take a few
moments to continue unwinding, however it's
customary to vacate the room within five or ten
minutes as a courtesy to the next guest awaiting
a treatment.
Spa Payment Policy
Registered hotel guests will have any spa
services posted to their credit card on file.
Day spa users may pay with any major credit card
and cash. Gratuities are not included with any
of our spa treatments.
Cancellations: Because your spa
appointment is reserved exclusively for you, we
require 24 hour cancellation notice whenever
possible. In order to honor each guest's
experience, late arrivals will receive only the
remaining time of their appointment.
Spa Etiquette
If
you have enjoyed the services of a particular
therapist on a prior visit, feel free to request
that person. Let us know of any preferences you
have with regard to your spa experience: amount
of light, music, room temperature, and whether
or not you choose to have a conversation or
enjoy the treatment in silence. If you want the
therapist to give you a deep massage, or be
gentler, let him or her know. Feel free to ask
questions. Your therapist will enjoy knowing
your thoughts and clarifying any issues you may
have. If any part of your experience is
unsatisfactory, first tell your therapist. If
the response isn't helpful, speak to a manager
and we will do our best to resolve the problem.
On
the day of your treatment, try to stay out of
the sun and avoid alcoholic beverages. Drink
plenty of water before and afterward, especially
if you plan to take a fitness class or enjoy
heat therapy, such as a sauna or the steam room.
We find it best to plan a day of total
relaxation after a spa treatment, rather than a
physically demanding activity. When in doubt,
contact the spa to ask whether it is advisable
to engage in a particular activity prior to your
appointment.
Before entering any shared facilities such as
swimming pool, Jacuzzi pool, or sauna always
shower. When enjoying the sauna, always sit on
your towel and wear flip-flops or sandals.
Please do not shave in the steam room.
Smoking is not permitted in any area of Bella
Monte Hot Springs Resort and Spa. If you smoke,
please limit to offsite locations or your
vehicle and please dispose of any waste
properly.
Our emphasis is on relaxation and to that end,
we ask that you leave phones and pagers at home
or in your room or turn them off before arriving
for your spa appointment. In the spa and
elsewhere, we ask that you be respectful of
others and keep conversations at a low volume.
Please no heavy perfumes as others may be
allergic and we want everyone to have a pleasant
experience.
Being respectful of your environment is part of
the spa experience. Use only the number of
towels necessary: washing them uses water and
electrical, which are limited resources in some
communities.
Sauna Tips
The dry sauna aids in detoxification by
increasing circulation and body cell metabolism
thereby causing toxic wastes to be expelled
through the skin.
Please shower both before and after your sauna
experience.
For best results, wrap yourself in a clean towel
and sit or recline in a comfortably hot
sauna. Bathing suits are not recommended as the
fabric dyes can get into your pores during
perspiration. The wrapped towel covering all
private areas is adequate. If you prefer, you
can gently massage any painful areas. A typical
stay should not exceed from five to ten minutes.
You may want to bring in a bottle of water to
sip while in the sauna as well as a cool
compress for your forehead, and a rolled up
towel for under your neck if you choose to lie
down.
Cool down gradually after leaving. To close your
pores after a sauna visit, shower with cool
water.
We do not recommend use of the sauna if you are
pregnant, have high blood pressure and other
medical issues and can not be responsible for
complications arising from such. Please check
with your doctor prior to use.
